High quality kids mountain bikes are a big commitment, so naturally buying one for your child comes with a lot of risk. For many people, there are just far too many points of uncertainty and unanswered questions:

How can I be sure the bike will fit them?

What will I do if they outgrow it too quickly?

What will I do with the bike once they're too big for it?

How expensive is maintaining a high-end bike?

At Gromstar, we think this is a problem. No matter how good the gear is, for many families a bike in the £2000 ballpark is too expensive for something which could only last a year if a growth spurt hits. The way we see it, too many are being dissuaded from one of the best sports simply because the barrier to entry is too high.

Bikes as a Tool


Some rental services will sell you on shiny and colourful bikes, but we recognise that the best MTB experiences require performance, not cosmetics. We view bikes as tools to facilitate shredding, and that's why we decided to focus on providing top-quality bikes specced to the highest technical standard, guaranteed.

What’s more, our mindset doesn’t change whether the bike has been used or not - you wouldn’t throw away a great knife once blunt, just give it a sharpen. Similarly, scratches on a paint job aren’t an indicator of a bad bike, so we don’t pretend they are. Nothing ever goes to waste if it still meets our mechanical standards - every bike that comes back to our warehouse is examined and refurbished with top quality components, ready for the next little Grom to have the time of their life.
